i’m writing a

book!

We Deserve More is the book I wish I’d had years ago — a fearless, unflinching look at how the medical system fails gynecological healthcare and how we can fight back. Drawing on my decade as an OB/GYN Physician Assistant and my work as a reproductive rights advocate, it’s both a wake-up call and a roadmap.

If you’ve ever had your pain dismissed, your symptoms minimized, or your questions brushed aside, this book will meet you there — validating your experience while equipping you with the tools, language, and confidence to advocate for yourself.

Part storytelling, part survival guide, We Deserve More is about reclaiming our voices, demanding better care, and rewriting the rules of a system that was never built for us in the first place.

  • As women, we’re told: don’t be too loud, too bold, too strong. Don’t ask for too much. We’re asked to shrink ourselves to fit into the box instead of being given the tools and support to bust it open and build a whole new one. This book is built from the conversations I’ve had in real life, in text messages, and in late-night DMs. It’s a call for accountability—but also for compassion.

    Authors Note

  • This isn’t a biology textbook. It’s a roadmap. A lifeline. A guide to help you navigate a system that was never built to fully support you—and too often leaves you feeling confused, dismissed, or on your own.

    We Deserve More
    Introduction

  • This is about finding your voice—and using it. Not to shout over a system that still tries to drown you out, but to steady yourself inside it. To walk into appointments with language, tools, and self-trust you weren’t given before.

    We Deserve More,
Chapter 9: Learning the System So You Can Beat It

  • “Your concerns are not too much. Your questions are not distractions. Your story is not a burden. You deserve care that takes the time your body and your life require.”

    We Deserve More
Chapter 5: The Clock is Ticking

  • "You deserve more. More time. More trust. More clarity. More care. You deserve providers who listen. Who believe you. You deserve to feel safe in your body—and in the rooms where decisions are made about it.”

    We Deserve More
Chapter 15: This Isn’t Extra. This Is Your Right

  • We Deserve More will be published in Summer 2026 by Wiley/Jossey-Bass. Pre-order links will be available closer to launch, and it will be available online, in major bookstores, and through independent retailers. I can’t wait for you to read it!!!

  • Anyone who has ever felt unheard or dismissed in a doctor’s office will find something in these pages. It’s for patients navigating reproductive healthcare, parents guiding teens through their first visits, advocates fighting for better care, and even providers who want to do better inside a broken system.

  • We Deserve More is both a wake-up call and a guide. It exposes the systemic gaps in gynecological healthcare—why care so often feels rushed, dismissive, or incomplete—and gives you the tools to advocate for yourself. It’s part validation (you’re not imagining it) and part roadmap (here’s how to speak up, ask better questions, and get the care you deserve).

  • This isn’t a textbook or a “what to expect” guide—it’s a movement in print. We Deserve More doesn’t just explain how your body works; it reveals why the system often fails to care for it properly. With a mix of real-world stories, behind-the-scenes insight from clinical practice, and practical scripts for self-advocacy, this book bridges the gap between patients and providers like nothing else on the market.

  • I wrote We Deserve More because I lived it—as a clinician, an advocate, and a patient. After over a decade as an OB/GYN PA, I saw too many people fall through the cracks of a system that’s underfunded, undertrained, and under pressure. And then I experienced it myself—getting fired for speaking up about abortion access and LGBTQ+ care.

This book is my response. It’s for anyone who’s ever felt dismissed, confused, or unprepared in a healthcare setting. You’re not imagining it—and you’re not alone.

  • A sneak peek at what you’ll find in We Deserve More:

    – Why OB/GYN training leaves out key topics like trauma, menopause, and LGBTQ+ care
    – How insurance and hospital systems quietly shape what care you get
    – What to do when you’re dismissed, gaslit, or stuck in a rushed visit
    – How race, weight, gender, and identity impact reproductive care
    – Scripts, questions, and real-world tools to help you speak up and protect your health
    – A compassionate call-in to providers—and a guide for how we change this together

This book is your roadmap for navigating a system that wasn’t built for you—so you can walk in ready.
